The Finaxar Flex Visa card makes me not worry too much because I have money on hand…. It helps me think more, beyond money, how to bring more business to me, how to help my own staff to pay them the salary and move forward.
It helps us make decisions faster, not worry about funds on hand and move a little more faster in the decision making process.
- Veerappan Sengodan, Brinda’s
Named after a sacred basil leaf, Brinda’s is a family-run restaurant and catering business. Brinda’s was quick to move into action when COVID-19 hit, quickly launching a programme to deliver thousands of packed meals to foreign workers quarantined in dormitories. Ramping up manpower and sourcing raw materials from overseas suppliers to deliver the meals quickly became a challenge – particularly as prices spiked and suppliers required upfront payment due to the crisis.
In turn, Brinda’s turned to Finaxar to gain access to working capital and leveraged the Finaxar Flex Visa card to pay suppliers in a timely manner. The Finaxar solution and Flex Visa card provided the Brinda’s team visibility into company expenditure and control over its finances, saving them time and allowing them to focus on growing their business and giving back to the community during challenging times.
“Although we were not on the frontlines, we feel honoured to be part of the COVID-19 solution. The happiness we had after the everyday delivery is unforgettable,” says Brinda’s founder, Veerappan Sengodan.

We could in fact differentiate our buyers between those who would allow their cards to be used as opposed to other buyers and as a result our receivables position improved as well as our liquidity streamlining our payment processes at the same time.
- Gary Lee, Sigma Food
With over 10 years of experience providing a range of frozen food products to the local and overseas market, Sigma services a wide range of customers in Singapore including restaurants, convenience stores, wet markets and supermarkets. Sigma Foods is well supported by their suppliers from Singapore, China, India, Vietnam and Belgium. With COVID-19 and the Circuit Breaker came challenges of collecting receivables from buyers across Singapore; since they had followed a manual collection and follow-up process, travel restrictions made it difficult to reach out to customers.
In turn, Sigma Food partnered with Visa Business Payment Solution Provider SGeBiz to understand the benefits of a supplier initiated model, which enabled them to upload invoices and permit buyers on their platform to pay via Visa cards.

A clear value add is the ability to access interest-free credit to help drive working capital needs for large recurring business. This has been pivotal in helping drive healthy working capital ratios, ensuring that we continue to drive sustainable business growth during and after the pandemic.
- Mr Jerrold Quek, Far Ocean Group
For more than 40 years, Far Ocean has built a solid reputation for freshness. As a one-stop provider of integrated food solutions, they offer a wide variety of products – from premium Wagyu beef to gourmet seafood – that are recognised for their superior quality by the most discerning producers, distributors, and consumers worldwide. However, the COVID-19 pandemic created disruption on both domestic and global supply chains globally and also created a dent in terms of overall demand. With this, one of the key challenges for Far Ocean Group was ensuring that they continue to drive healthy cash flow, managing both the payables and receivables aspects of operations to ensure they emerge stronger after the crisis.
To do so, Far Ocean Group has worked with Visa Business Payment Solution Provider CardUp to digitalise its payables, in turn saving manpower time and driving cost savings, particularly given Far Ocean’s multiple lines of business and numerous monthly invoices to process.
